Klong Bang Luang is a community settled along canal in Bangkok. Its livelihood was well organized along the canal with boat as main transportation. However, due to the modernization of the city, motorization replaced main mobility of the community, and took liveliness away from the townscape along the canal. Recently, tourism rediscovered and reactivate this place by bringing several new structures in order to attract tourists, which actually block the accessibility to the canal for villagers. As tourism brings excessive transformation, it also can deteriorate livelihood of the community. In order to solve this issue to revitalize and enhance distinctive characteristic of the area, this paper propose solutions to balance between local livelihood and tourism. The proposal also redefines the membership to sustain this community by redesigning the threshold in both sense of physical settings and programs.
